When Barbara Franc was a little girl, she loved it when her mother Sophie would have friends over to knit. So when Barb decided to open her own knit shop, she wanted it to reflect that same feeling of “home”. That’s why at Sophie’s Fine Yarn Shoppe, you’ll find plenty of space with comfy sofas and chairs where you can come and simply sit, visit and knit. It’s a great meeting place for friends and the helpful staff is happy to help with your knitting or crochet questions.
i travel several times a year to Louisville and one of the highlights of my trips is to spend a few hours in Sophies with Barbara and Lynn. Not only do they have a phenomenal selection of yarns and patterns, but they take the time to help you create a beautiful project. This is THE BEST yarn store.
Simply the Best! Love the Staff! And the Monthly workshops that Barb teaches are so much fun. You really meet interesting people and the variety of projects the customers are working on broaden your mind as to what I might possibly be able to knit.
My mom's enthusiasm for knitting couldn't be displayed any better than in Sophie's Fine Yarn Shoppe. Nobody could ask for a better home for avid knitters and good friends. I am so proud of her store!
When you go into Sophie's Yarn Shop, the setting up of yarn is fantastic! The staff is very helpful with any project you may have. The free classes on Saturday are fun and informative. Love them. Being open on Sundays is an extra bonus.
